Colm Kenny Cup National School Tournament

Sunday August 14th

Venue: Tom Langan Park, Ballycastle at 1pm

On this weekend Sunday 14th, Ballycastle GAA will honour the memory of former player and friend

Colm Kenny.

Many of the present players at this age group will have never met or known Colm,

but within the walls of the Tom Langan Park his name is still spoken of with pride and respect.

Colm was known all over North Mayo for his tough but stylish playing style.

Colm played for Ballycastle from National school right up to Junior winning a

County Minor title with the club and numerous North Mayo titles.

He played minor for Mayo in 1996 getting to the All Ireland Semi Final losing to Kerry.

The National School tournament scheduled for this weekend in his memory is a fitting tribute to a man

that loved the young football teams in his club.

The trophies and medals are sponsored by the Kenny family

The event co-ordinators are Martin Tighe and David Carden. Teams will attend from Killala, Kilfian, Lacken, Cooneal and the host team Ballycastle.

At 5pm approx the club will unveil our new club house. Blessing will take place by Fr. Loftus PP.

This will be followed by the Final of the Colm Kenny Cup

The newly extended Sports Complex will also be blessed by Fr Loftus and will be open for refreshments.

The official opening will be performed by Michael Ring TD.

We welcome everyone far and near for what's going to be an historic day in our club and indeed our parish.
