Eircom Mast

The following notice has been in the Planning Notices of the Western People on January 19th & 26th but local people do not seem to know about it. Local groups and individuals are strongly urged to write and object to this in the middle of our village.

 

“Mayo County Council - We, Eircom Limited, intend to apply for planning permission for development at this site Eircom Exchange, Main Street, Ballycastle, Co. Mayo.

The development will consist of the construction of an 18-metre-high free standing communications structure with its associated antennae, communication dishes, ground equipment and all associated site development works. The development will form part of Eircom LTD existing telecommunications and broadband network. The planning application can be inspected, or purchased at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy, at the offices of the planning authority during its opening hours and a submission or observation may be made in writing to the authority on payment of the prescribed fee (€20) within the period of 5 weeks beginning on the date of receipt by the authority of the application.”

 

Deaths

Sympathy is extended to the family, relatives and friends of Mary (Molly) Duffy (née Scott) Parke, Turlough and formerly of Carrowniskey, Ballycastle who died recently. Predeceased by her brothers Martin, Paddy, Henry and Tommy and sister Kathleen.

May she rest in peace.

 

Sympathy is also extended to the family, relatives and friends of Mary Frain (née McNulty), Cloverhill, Ballaghdereen and late of Belderrig (in her 103 rd year) who died on February 4th .

Church Notices

Due to Level 5 restrictions there are no public Masses at the moment.

Church envelopes can be placed in the letter boxes in both Churches or left in Ballycastle Post Office.

 

Both churches are open daily for private prayer.
