‘The Gathering' Festival

Ballycastle/Belderrig Festival takes place from Thursday 1st to Saturday 10th August with lots of activities planned for the week. More information as follows:

Ballycastle 7's Tournament

The inaugural Ballycastle 7's Tournament will take place on Saturday 10th August in Tom Langan Park , Ballycastle. The competition is limited to 12 teams (70 euro per team).

McCormack's Funfair
Ballycastle/Belderrig Festival are pleased to announce McCormack's Funfair are bringing their famous funfair to Ballycastle for the week of the festival. Talking to Mark McCormack, he said he was pleased to be asked to come all the way from Clare and be part of the festival as he had heard so much about the Healyfest and Bronzeman but because of work commitments could never attend.
He hopes the people from Ballycastle/Belderrig really enjoy the fun of the fair.

Street Festival
The Highlight of Bank Holiday Monday 5th is the Street Festival where you can expect a variety of act's, stalls, demonstrations and all round entertainment with the soap car derby, barrell rolling competition, to the joy of the funfair. And if anyone gets hungry, you can always taste Peggy's homemade boxty. Patsy O'Neill will keep the crowds entertained on the day. The committee hope to blend the old style fair day with modern song and acts, and we encourage people to get dressed up in clothes from the 40's and 50's of western Ireland .

Flower Festival

Flower Festival in St. John's Church on Sunday 4th August from 12.00noon. Even Song at 5.00p.m. Open again on Monday 5th 12.00noon – 5.00p.m.

Concert

Any musicians, drummers and singers who would like to take part in the Concert for the Gathering Festival, please contact Maria Ruane on 086 3016691.

A meeting will be arranged later to decide the schedule for the concert itself.

Death

Sympathy is extended to the family, relatives and friends of Mai Loftus , New York who died recently (Aunt of Dr. Declan Clinton).

May her soul rest in peace.

Outdoor Mass

Mass will be offered at Our Lady's Grotto, Céide Fields, Ballycastle on Friday 12th July at 6.00p.m. for all that died tragically along the North Mayo coastline and for the intention of all who contributed in any way to the building of the grotto.

Craft Shop is located in the Resource Centre, Upper Main Street stocking goods by local craftworkers e.g. knitwear, crochet, handmade cards, candles, fridge magnets, wooden bowls, cushions etc.

Also, Paintings by local artists, Mayo Crystal and a range of other items.

Library is located in the VEC Building (former Secondary School) and is open on Wednesdays from 9.30a.m. – 4.00p.m.

Classes

Set dancing and music classes are taking a break for the summer and will resume again in September.

Irish Dancing classes continue every Monday and Thursday, in St John's Hall, Ballycastle from 5pm till 6.30pm. New members are always welcome. Children can start from age 3 up.

Outdoor Gym

The new outdoor fitness gym in Suífinn Way Estate is open to anybody over the age of 50. The equipment is clearly marked with instructions on how to use each individual piece.
