Fleadh
Weekend
The
Fleadh weekend in Ballycastle went off very well and all events
were well attended. It brought a lot of visitors to
the town and also brought locals home for the weekend.
Weather was beautiful too and this meant a lot of people were
out and about and able to enjoy the occasion.
The
concert on Friday night was a big success with lots of music,
song and dance and local set dancers dancing the ‘Ballycastle
Set' were Aidan Tighe, George O'Grady, Frankie Scanlon, James
Clarke, Mauretti Uí Flatharta, Maureen Healy, Mary
O'Connor and Margaret Walsh.
Saturday
was very busy in the town and competitions took place all
day in the various venues.
On
Sunday, groups of musicians playing traditional music at various
locations on the street created a great atmosphere and brought
young and old out to watch, listen and enjoy.
