Community Alert are setting up a text alert system in Ballycastle
and surrounding areas. A text alert system would enable people
in the community to be informed of any suspicious activity
taking place in their area. A once-off registration fee of
€20, to fund signage and texts, will apply. For registration

Mayo
Forest Rally
The
Mayo Mini-stage Forest Rally takes place on Sunday 18th October
in the Ballycastle and Garranard areas. Service Area for the
event is planned for Main Street in Ballycastle and therefore
Main Street will be closed, with the permission of the Gardai
and Mayo County Council, between 11.00a.m. and 5.00p.m. The
street will be closed between the junction of Dominick Street
and the junction of the R315 Crossmolina road. A one-way system
may be employed to minimise disruption. The competing crews
will avail of two service opportunities during the event and
this will offer local residents and spectators alike, the
chance to see the cars and crews in close proximity. Residents
are asked to please park outside of the designated service
area on the day in order to keep the street clear of parked
cars.
