Art Exhibition

Ballycastle Women's Art Group presents 'Solas' a new selection of paintings depicting the wild beauty of the surrounding country and sea-sides, concentrating on light and shade.

The following ladies are taking part in this 12th Annual Exhibition:   Ellen Stagg, Mary Delaney,

Rita Langan, Ann O'Gorman, Margaret Herbert, Margaret Kelly, Cath Doores,

Florrie McBrien, Marian Galt (Bourke), Isthar, Hazel Kneafsey, Sue Kneafsey,

Mauretti Uí Fhlatharta and Sue Upton (Tutor).

The Exhibition will take place (a week earlier than previous years) on Saturday 25th July '09 in the Resource Centre Gallery, Main Street , Ballycastle. The official opening will be performed by Theresa Bourke (former Art Teacher in the closed Stella Maris Convent) at 8.30p.m. Cheese and wine reception. All welcome. The Resource Centre will be open Monday – Friday from 10.00a.m. – 5.00p.m. and will be open on Sunday 26th July from 1.00p.m. – 4.00p.m. and Bank Holiday Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 12.00noon – 4.00p.m. Tel: 096-43946/43407.

There will be a Commemorative Ceremony in Ballycastle Graveyard on Sunday next at 2.30p.m. for Private E.G. Lane who was buried here in 1940 during World War 2.
