                                                      In the event of a person collapsing and becoming unresponsive:

                                                      1. Call 999 (landline) or 112 (mobile)

                                                      2. Call local Defibrillator Responder on

                                                         A) 086-257-6771 or B) 086-257-6772

                                                      3. Start CPR immediately while awaiting responder and emergency                                                               service.


The death occurred on Sunday 12th of Breege Meyler (nee Collins), Carrowcubic, Ballycastle.

Sympathy is extended to her husband Jim, daughters Fiona and Siobhán, sister Maura, brother Seán, grandchildren, sons in law, brother in law, sister in law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

May she rest in peace.


The death occurred on Tuesday 14th of  Molly McGarry (nee Healy), Ballycastle and formerly of Kilbride.

Reposing at Lynn 's Funeral Home, Killala on Thursday evening from 5.00p.m. with removal at 7.00p.m. to St. Bridget's Church, Ballycastle.

Mass on Friday at 12noon followed by burial in Ballycastle Cemetery .

Sympathy is extended to her brother Martin (Dublin), sisters in law, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and friends.

May she rest in peace.


Ballycastle Cycling Club and Bike Week

Ballycastle Cycling Club and Mayo Sports Partnership, in conjunction with Mayo County Council, An Taisce's Green Schools Programme and the Road Safety Authority, will have an event for Bike week on Thursday 16th June at 7pm. This event is aimed at children and adults who would like to get back into cycling. The event will be marshalled by the Ballycastle Cycling club and will start at the Shambles. We will make our way to Downpatrick Head and back up to the village - a distance of 12km at a pace to suit everyone. All welcome. Refreshments served. This event is totally free!

Garda will attend at Ballycastle Community Hall from 2 – 3pm on the 1st Wednesday of every month.



Opening times for the Gymnasium in Ballycastle Community Hall are:

Monday – Friday 9.00a.m. – 1.00p.m. and 5.00p.m. – 9.00p.m.

Saturday 10.00a.m. – 1.30p.m.

Prices: €5 per visit, €20 per month, €50 for 3 months or €120 per year.

Club Spins for Members at 8am on Sundays from the Shambles.
If you know anyone interested in getting into cycling for beginners, Couch to the Giro continues at 9am on Saturdays from the Shambles, Ballycastle. All you need is a Bike (any), a Helmet and Motivation.
