Comórtas
Champions 2010
Baile
an Chaisil won Comórtas Peile na Gaeltacht for the
second year in a row when they defeated Kilcommon by 4-14
to 0-2 at the Mayo Finals. Having got a bye into the final,
after Achill pulled out, Ballycastle had an advantage over
the home club Kilcommon after they had beaten Tourmakeady
the previous day in their semi final. The 2009 champions weren't
long in making this advantage pay as they took an early lead.
The match was over as a contest by half time with Ballycastle
leading by 1-8 to 0-1.
The
second half was no different and although the opposition tried
their best, when Ballycastle used route one with quick ball
to the full forward line they absolutely destroyed Kilcommon,
with the full forward line of Micheal Forde, Patrick Tighe
and Simon Barrett scoring 3-10 between them.
The
team that played in the final was: Jason O'Neill, Shane McHale,
J.P. Guiheen, Daniel Breslin,
John Carey, Tom Gaughan, Daniel Kelly (0-1), Shane Forde,
Gerard Nealon, Declan Caulfield,
Shane
Healy(0-3), Joe Tighe, Simon Barrett (2-4), Patrick Tighe
(0-3), Micheal Forde (1-3).
