In the first round of the County Junior Championship Ballycastle were defeated by Belmullet with a final score of Ballycastle: 1-7;   Belmullet: 0-13.

Enrolment

An Enrolment Meeting with the parents of new entrants for 2006/2007 to Ballycastle National School will take place in the school on Monday 22nd May at 8.00p.m.

 

Women's Group

Meeting on Thursday 25th May at 9.00p.m. in the Resource Centre.

 

Women's Group have made a Patchwork Quilt which will be raffled on Sunday 4th June.   Tickets cost €2.00 each and are available in all local businesses and in the Craft Shop which is open Monday – Friday 10.00a.m. – 5.00p.m.  

 

Women's Regional Conference

This conference will be held in the Great Northern Hotel, Bundoran on Friday 9th June 10.00a.m. – 4.00p.m.   Free Bus and Lunch.   Open to all women.   Please give names to Craft Shop by Friday 26 th May.   Phone: 096 – 43946.

 

Casual Trading Rights

On Saturday 29th April, local produce was sold on Ballycastle Main Street in compliance with procedures set out by Irish Market Rights Organisation to protect the existing rights of casual traders and extend them for a further 10 years under the old legislation.   These rights have existed for the past 400 years and extend to most Irish towns, but have been changed by the 1995 Casual Trading Act.   More information about this can be accessed on www.irishmarketrights.org.

 

Deaths

Sympathy is extended to the families, relatives and friends of Molly Coultry, Cortoon (Mother of John, Belderrig) who died last week and Mai Loftus (late of Keerglen) who died recently in England.

 

First Holy Communion

There will be another short Liturgy for First Holy Communion Children and their families at the Vigil Mass on Saturday 20th May.   First Holy Communion in Ballycastle will be on Sunday 28th May at 11.30a.m. Mass.
