Cycle
for Mayo Oncology Unit
Former
Mayo captain Dermot Flanagan, in conjunction with his teammates
from the 1995 to 1997 era, are cycling around Mayo visiting
each of the GAA Clubs in the County between 14 – 21 August.
The objective is to raise funds for the Mayo Hospital Oncology
Unit.
The
cycle visited Tom Langan Park, Ballycastle today (Wednesday),
where Dermot kicked a point
(he
wants to say he kicked a point in every GAA ground in the
County) before heading onwards to Glenamoy. Club Chairperson
Eilis Ormsby handed over a cheque on behalf of Ballycastle
GAA.
Dermot's
father Seán was captain of the last All-Ireland winning
Mayo team in 1951.
