AGM

Award winning Ballycastle & District Voluntary Housing Association held their AGM on 16th February. The Following officers were elected:

Chairman: Frank McNamee

Treasurers: Fr. Michael Harrison & Dr. Declan Clinton

Company Secretary: Nuala Delaney Whelan

PROS: Cauleen Barrett & Florrie McBrien

Vice Chair: Dr. Declan Clinton

 

The company were recently granted planning permission to extend their premises. It is hoped to build a new kitchen and dining room on to the existing building. Dinners are now being offered three days a week.

The exercise club are beginning a six week aqua aerobic programme on Wednesdays at 3.00p.m. in Hotel Ballina beginning Wednesday 18th February and are really looking forward to this new adventure. Death

Sympathy is extended to the family, relatives and friends of Mrs Bridie Kearney (nee Lowther, Carrowcullen, Ballycastle and formerly of Rathglass, Knockanilaun, Ballina who died yesterday (Mother of Noel Kearney, Carrowcullen).

Reposing at her residence on Thursday from 4.00p.m. – 9.00p.m. Removal on Friday for Mass at 12.00noon in Lacken Church with burial afterwards in Rathfran Cemetery .

Children's Basketball on Tuesdays at 5.30 – 6.30p.m. for 8 – 10yrs and from 6.30 – 7.30p.m. for ages 11 – 14.

Ladies basketball at 8.00p.m. on Tuesdays.

Craft Shop is located in the Resource Centre, Upper Main Street stocking goods by local craftworkers e.g. knitwear, crochet, handmade cards, wooden bowls, cushions, cot quilts, etc.

Ballycastle souvenir items e.g. candles, fridge magnets, keyrings, bookmarks, biros, teabag holders, St. Brigid's crosses, Mayo Crystal and a range of other items.
