St. Brigid's win County Title

St Brigids Senior Team ( amalgamation of Killala, Kilfian, Moygownagh, Lacken and Ballycastle) ended a 12 year famine by capturing the County Junior title in wind swept Mayo Abbey on Sunday 16th September with a final score of:

St. Brigids: 2-7; Louisburg : 1-9.

They can now look forward to representing Mayo in the Connacht Championship on 29th September.

Mayo Culture Night at Ballinglen

Culture night opens at the Ballinglen Arts Foundation on Friday 21st September between 6.00p.m. and 9.00p.m. with an exhibition of work and talk by Michael Canning.

Other attractions on the night: A Still Life demonstration, open studio where you can see work in progress, and archive collection. Refreshments served. Admission free. You are welcome to join us to celebrate Culture Night in Mayo.

 

Deaths

The death occurred recently of Paddy McDonnell, Killena and Castlebar. Sympathy is extended to his wife Marie, brother Michael, sisters Eileen Piggott & Mary, relatives and friends.

 

Sympathy is also extended to the relatives and friends of Annie Kate Munnelly, Main Street who died on Monday 17th .

May they rest in peace.

The new outdoor fitness gym is finally installed in Suífinn Way Estate and open to anybody over the age of 50. The equipment is clearly marked with instructions on how to use each individual piece.
