Green Flag

The raising of the Green Flag in the grounds of St. Brigid's National School on Thursday last was a special occasion. It was attended by parents, extended family members, past teachers, public representatives and members of the community. After an introduction by Patricia Newman (Principal) , the committee which was formed were introduced (one representative from each class) - Tara Earley, Conor Tomas, Maria Maughan, Zach Kelly, Karen Healy, Patrick Gaughan, Richard Tighe, Cliona Maughan and Ciara Clinton with teacher Marie Carey. Fr. Sean Killeen blessed the flag and it was raised by Mairtín O'Flatharta (ex-Principal) , Henry Coyle (World Welterweight Boxing Champion 2005) and Councillor Gerry Coyle. The pupils of St. Brigid's entertained us with music and song and refreshments were provided afterwards.
