Art Exhibition

The official opening of the Ballycastle Art Group Annual Art Exhibition, entitled “Brushstrokes”, will take place in the Resource Centre Art Gallery on Saturday July 30th 2011 at 8.30p.m. Fr. Seán Killeen will launch the Exhibition. A cheese and wine reception will follow. Please join us for a great social evening. Fáilte roimh cath.

The Ballycastle Art Group members are busy putting the final “brushstrokes” to their paintings for exhibition. The new works consist of landscapes, seascapes, still lifes in various media and monoprints. This is hardly surprising since we are surrounded by spectacular seas and changing light on beautiful landscapes. The monoprints were printed in Ballinglen Arts Foundation with the very kind permission and guidance of Una and Chrissie.

The artists taking part this year are: Mary Delaney, Cathy Doors, Marion Galt, Margaret Herbert, Margaret Kelly, Rita Langan, Florrie McBrien, Ellen Stagg, Mauretti Bn Uí Fhlathartha and Sue Upton. Many thanks to Sue Upton, our current tutor.

The Exhibition will be open over the Bank Holiday weekend from 12.00noon – 4.00p.m. and thereafter from 10.00a.m. – 5.00p.m. Monday to Friday until September 1st 2011. Artworks are constantly on display in the Art Gallery upstairs in the Resource Centre, so please drop in to the Gallery when visiting Ballycastle.

The Craft Shop is also open on the night of the Exhibition.
