GAA Tournament

The first ever running of the Colm Kenny Memorial Tournament is to take place between the National Schools in the Naomh Padraig area. It is open to all boys in 3rd , 4th , 5th and 6th classes. Each National School will play as a team. All players will receive a medal to mark their involvement. The games will be seven-a-side and 10minutes each half. It will be up to each club to pick their own team and all players are guaranteed to play a part. The top two teams will contest the A Final. The next two will play the B Final and next two the C Final. The final order of teams will be based first on maximum points, secondly on how the teams fared head to head and lastly on score difference. All games will be played in Kilfian.

Colm Kenny was a superb footballer, a former Mayo Minor and was also very interested in helping younger players. This is an ideal way to honour his memory. Naomh Padraig and Ballycastle GAA thank the Kenny family for their involvement in this tournament.

Calling all exiles

Anybody who is living away from home, whether its Dublin , London or further afield should consider the Bank Holiday in June as a weekend for returning home. Baile an Chaisil are playing in the All-Ireland Gaeltacht tournament on the weekend of 4th-7th June, in Belmullet. The team is due to play their quarter-final on the Saturday against Belmullet so the lads need as much support as possible. Having contested the finals last year in Rosmuc, you can be assured of a brilliant weekend of football and craic agus gaeilge with over 10,000 people descending on the Erris town.
