Giro de Baile

The Giro de Baile an Chaisil takes place Sunday August 2nd at 10:00am from Main Street, Ballycastle, Co. Mayo.
Hosted by Baile and Chaisil Cycling Club, the Giro follows a wonderfully scenic course from Ballycastle Village right along the North Mayo Coast cycling right into the heart of Erris. Glancing around you will see the rugged coastline of North Mayo with Céide and the Staggs of Broadhaven in the distance.
The ride is not a race, it's a chance to enjoy a challenge with like minded people with spectacular views through out the routes.

Ballycastle/Belderrig Festival will take place from Thursday 30th July – Wednesday 5th August.

Thursday 30th July:

Official opening with concert in Ceide Fields. Music by local artists. Adults €5. Children free.

Friday 31st July:

4.00p.m.: Children's Street Art

7.00p.m.: Car Treasure Hunt followed by prizegiving in Seaview Lounge at 10.00p.m.

8.30p.m.: Bingo in Ballycastle Hall

9.00p.m.: Traditional Music in Healy's Bar

Saturday 1st August:

10.00a.m.: Walk (starting at Shambles)

12.00noon: Bronzeman in Belderrig

8.30p.m.: Opening of Art Exhibition ‘ Wild Atlantic Way ' in the Resource Centre

Art Exhibition

This year's scenes are depicting ‘The Wild Atlantic Way'. Official opening is at 8.30p.m. on Saturday August 1st in the Resource Centre Gallery. The opening will be launched by Nuala Clarke, Ballinglen Fellow and renowned artist.

Cheese & wine reception.

The Gallery will be open Sunday and Monday during the Festival weekend.

Mayo Job Club

From Monday 10th August – Friday 21st August 2015 in The Barracks, Glen Road, Ballycastle,

Monday – Friday from 10am – 1pm. €40 paid to each participant towards travel.

The Job Club is a 3 week training course which is hosted in various locations throughout the County. It provides guidance in the following areas: CV Preparation, Interview Skills and Job Resourcing. It facilities learning of essential job seeking skills as a group and also provides help on a one-to-one basis. The Job Club is for unemployed people who want to find work, to upskill, to change careers or to return to education in an atmosphere with people who will have similar issues to you, allowing you to talk freely in comfortable surroundings. You also write your CV.

50/50 Weekly Draw

Ballycastle GAA will launch their new 50/50 Weekly Draw in the next few weeks.

The draw is simple but very effective, every Saturday someone will win 50% of all the money collected and the other 50% will go to Ballycastle GAA club who are fund raising to carry out important maintenance and improvement work to the Tom Langan Memorial Pitch.

To enter the draw, go into any of the participating businesses. Put €2 in a 50/50 Weekly Draw envelope and write your name, address and contact details on it and wait for the call on Saturday night!
