Ballycastle
GAA Development
Development
Progress - November 2016. Phase 1.
Completion of the new grass pitch has been in progress over
the last couple of months. The new pitch surface has now been
laid and seeded, and is progressing well, and will be ready
for use in 2017.
Depending on weather conditions it is hoped that green grass
will begin shooting up soon. However, it will be the end of
next Spring before the pitch will be playable.
Members of the Committee of Ballycastle GAA joined Des Healy
and his team from Des Healy plant Hire on site to inspect
progress made and were impressed with the work undertook by
Des and his team.
At
the recent Ballycastle AGM club chairman Martin Heffernan
spoke on the importance of the facility's development:
It's
something that has to happen in order for us to move forward.
It's very encouraging that the good work that has started
and the work that's going on in Ballycastle GAA is continuing
to be pushed forward. GAA is a big part of life in Ballycastle
and this project will be a source of great pride for everyone
involved, from coach to player, to supporter to community.
It has been designed to give the best to our players so that
in turn they can be their best for their club. We would like
to invite everyone to get involved.
It
is hoped to erect a building containing dressing rooms, medical
rooms, coach's room, meeting rooms, administration offices,
a fully equipped gymnasium and the necessary sanitary facilities
to accompany the continued development of the playing facilities
at Tom Langan Park . Martin thanked everyone who has supported
the club's fundraising drive to date and asked that everyone
get behind the new Chairde Baile an Chaisil fundraiser.
