Art Exhibition

Ballycastle Women's Art Group are presenting their forthcoming Art Exhibition on Saturday 5th August at 9.00p.m. in the Resource Centre Gallery, Main Street, Ballycastle.   This year is the biggest yet from the vibrant and active group.   Eighteen artists are exhibiting 60 works including scenes from the North West wild and wonderful sea coast   -   hence the title of works   ‘TONNTA' (waves).

The group continues to expand each year.   Two new artists have joined us this year – Lucia O'Connell and Loretta Munnelly.   Artists exhibiting are the following:
Mary Delaney, Rita Langan, Carmel Tighe, Lucia O'Connell, Mauretti Uí Fhlatharta, Isthar, Maeve Dunne, Ann O'Gorman, Una Connolly, Lorraine Gray, Margaret Murray, Hazel Kneafsey, Sue Kneafsey, Sally Bourke, Cath Doores, Sue Upton, Florrie McBrien and Áine Connor (tutor).

The Exhibition will be launched by Cllr. Jarlath Munnelly, Killala.  This year's exhibition has to be confined to the local group due to the large amount of work.   Open invitation on exhibition evening, with wine reception. All Welcome.

The group wish to thank the following for their advice, support and funding:   Marian Flannery (Women of the North West), Moy Valley Resources and Mayo V.E.C.

A very special word of thanks to our tutors – Bernie Garvey O'Meara in '05 and Áine Connor who has guided us since our first exhibition in 1997.   We thank Ballycastle Development Company for the use of the gallery during the year.   Thanks also to Ballycastle Women's Group for the use of their facilities and to Sue Upton for doing all the invitations and flyers.

Come along and enjoy the evening.
