End of an era in Ballycastle

The last Court in Ballycastle took place today Wednesday 26th November.  Tributes were paid to all concerned by Judge Mary Devins, Court Clerk, Solicitors and Inspector Martin Byrne.

 

Community Hall

Meeting on Tuesday 2nd December at 9.00p.m. in the Hall.  A grant of 42,000euro has been received for the employment of 2 full-time workers in the Hall for next year.  Appointments will be made before 1st April '09.  Bingo licence and dance licence have been granted.  Anyone wishing to book the Hall can contact Carmel McGinty.

 

Art Exhibition

Mayo General Hospital present Ballycastle Women's Art Group ‘Passion on Canvas' Art Exhibition on Thursday 4th December '08 at 4.00p.m. in Mayo General Hospital (1st Floor).  Official opening by Pauline McDermott VEC.  Exhibition runs for three months.  Artists taking part in the above exhibition are Mary Delaney, Ann O'Gorman, Cath Doores, Mauretti Uí Fhlatharta, Hazel Kneafsey, Rita Langan, Sue Upton, Maeve Dunne, Florrie McBrien and Margaret Herbert.  Artists wish to thank Mayo General Hospital Art Committee for presenting their works.

 

Death

Sympathy is extended to the family, relatives and friends of Annie Donoghue, Carrowcubic who died on Friday last (Mother of Mary McNamee, Carrowcubic, Madeline McGuire, Ballyknock and Veronica Gaughan, Rathoonagh).

Training continues on Wednesdays in the Hall for U-10's, U-12's and U-14's starting at 6.30p.m.

 

Vintage Society

West Coast Vintage Society A.G.M. will take place on Tuesday 9th December at 9.00p.m. in Ballycastle Resource Centre.  New members welcome.

 

Ballycastle Hunt

Ballycastle Hunt Committee would like to thank everybody who gave donations and helped in any way at the Hunt on Sunday last.  Over 100 horses took part.  Amount raised to date from the charity auction is approximately 1,500euro.

Craft Fair will be held in Creevagh Social Centre, Lacken on Thursday 4th December at 7.00p.m.

Christmas Party

Meeting on Thursday 27th at 9.00p.m. to arrange Senior Citizens Mass and party which will take place in December.

 

Grand Draw

Tickets (limited to 1,000) are now on sale for the Grand Draw being organised by Ballycastle Community Hall Committee. First prize is a VW Polo (5 door Comfort Line) Car. Second prize: 2000euro; 3 rd : 1,000euro; 4 th : 500 euro;

5 th : 2 Tickets to Man. Utd. Match, plus numerous other prizes. Draw will take place in Ballycastle Hall on Saturday 10 th January 2009 .
