Ballycastle GAA season got off to a great start on Saturday 26th with a win in the 1st round of the League with a 9 point win over Claremorris B.

Final Score : Ballycastle: 3-11; Claremorris B: 0-11.

This was followed by a great night at the Club's Annual Presentation night in Hiney's, Crossmolina. On the night Guest Speaker Brian Ruane made presentations to the following:

Dr. Seamus Caulfield – Hall of Fame Recipient

Mayo U-21 Panelist Michéal Forde - Clubperson of the Year. This was a huge honour as the recipient received the Aidan Tighe Memorial Cup presented by the Tighe family.

J.P. Guiheen - Junior Player of the Year

Also honoured on the night were the members and selectors of the '81 team on the 30th anniversary of their winning the North Mayo Championship.

Team members were: Des Langan (Captain), Paddy Forde, Leo Golden, Martin Grier, Seamus McDonnell, Colin Dunne, Paddy Joe Keane, Anthony O'Donnell, Tom Forde, Eamon Maughan, John O'Donnell, Aidan Tighe (R.I.P.), Michael Kelly, Ronnie O'Donnell, Raymond Tighe, Seamus O'Connor, Peter McDonnell, Noel Tighe, Kevin Tomas, Liam Barrett, Paul O'Donnell, Kieran Munnelly.

Selectors: Patrick Golden (R.I.P.), Danny Gallagher, John Walsh.

Music on the night was by The Country Boy. A great night was had by all. A big thank you to all for making this night a huge success.
