Giro de Baile

Taoiseach Enda Kenny took part in the Giro de Baile in Ballycastle, Co. Mayo on the 31st July.

456 cyclists took to the roads of North Mayo for one of the top sportives in Ireland .

Save the date the 5th August 2017 for the 4th Giro de Baile.

Tourism meeting

Tourism meeting in Ballycastle on Wednesday August 17th at 8pm in Ballycastle Community Hall with Anne-Marie Flynn from Mayo North Promotions office.

All are welcome to attend, particularly those involved in tourism, or thinking about setting up a tourism-related business in Ballycastle or Belderrig to meet the team from Mayo North, talk about future tourism-related initiatives and ideas for Ballycastle/Belderrig and see how we can support each other.

‘Margaret McGreal Economy Run'

The inaugural ‘Margaret McGreal Economy Run' takes place on Sunday 7th August. 

Cars will leave the Great National Hotel Ballina from 11am and the route takes in Killala, Kilcummin, Lacken, Ballycastle, Belmullet and Blacksod before returning to Ballina via Bangor later that afternoon.  There will be an increase in traffic through the area for a short time from 11am.   All are welcome to enter a car and participate.  For more information please see

Cemetery Mass

Mass will be celebrated in Ballycastle Cemetery on Sunday 28th August at 11.30a.m.


The Ballinglen Arts Foundation, Ballycastle

Irish Artist Mick O'Dea 15th July - 21st August 2016 at the Ballinglen Gallery, Ballycastle.
Art work exhibited includes portraits by Mick O'Dea of Tom Clarke, Eamon de Valera , Patrick Pearse and James Connolly to name but a few of up to 20 wonderful portraits in total.

Garda in attendance

Garda will attend at Ballycastle Community Hall from 2 – 3pm on the 1st Wednesday of every month.



Opening times for the Gymnasium in Ballycastle Community Hall are:

Monday – Friday 9.00a.m. – 1.00p.m. and 5.00p.m. – 9.00p.m.

Saturday 10.00a.m. – 1.30p.m.

Prices: €5 per visit, €20 per month, €50 for 3 months or €120 per year.
