Celebration of Signal Towers

Due to bad weather conditions on Thursday 29th , the fire and Prayer Service at Downpatrick Head had to be cancelled.   This took place on Sunday 2nd July at 3.00p.m.   Many thanks to Fr. Sean Killeen and Rev Niall O'Raw for attending and offering prayers for all those lost at sea and off our coast.   Thanks to Heather Burke and family for granting permission to light the fire and to Michael Kelly, Paddy McDonnell and Michael O'Neill who lit the fire and to all who helped to organise this.   It was nice to see so many people there on a beautiful day.   (See Photo Gallery next week for pictures).

On Sunday 20th August at 3.00p.m. fires will be lit at all signal/watch tower locations around the coast of Ireland (including Downpatrick Head).
