                                                      3. Start CPR immediately while awaiting responder and emergency                                                              service.

Deaths

The death occurred on 1st January of Elaine Madden, Sea Road , Ballycastle. Sympathy is extended to her parents Anne & P.J., sister Anne-Marie, brothers Paul, John, Padraig and Darren and to her extended family and friends.

 

Sympathy is extended to Bridget Langan, Doonfeeney on the death of her brother Seán Walsh, Gorey, Co. Wexford.

 

May they rest in peace.

 

New Year's Charity Cycle

A massive thank you to all who participated in the annual New Year's cycle. A crowd of 52 brave souls took on the difficult weather conditions (we promise the sun shines on Ballycastle from time to time). We would like to thank Ballina Cycling Club and Liquidmotion Triathlon Club who yet again supported us in great number's and we would also like to thank them for the support they have given us throughout the year. Thank you to Rosaleen Flannery, Louise Kelly, Chrissie Tighe, Tommy Flannery, Mickey Moyles, Oisin and Erin Flannery, Annette Garry, XL Mc Donnells, Killala who have supported the club all year. Thank you to Frankie McNamee and staff at the Seaview Lounge. €740 was raised so thank you very much.

 

Baile an Chaisil Cycling Club Registration Night

Do you enjoy getting out on a bike, but are too intimidated to join a bike club that promotes racing? Are you new to cycling or just getting back into riding? Maybe you are looking for a little motivation to cycle more frequently or want to exercise in the outdoors with some really great people? Then come join our Club where it's not about speed, it's about FUN. Baile an Chaisil Cycling club is a club for all North Mayo.

Join us on our club Registration Night on Wednesday 14th January at 9pm in the Resource Centre, Ballycastle.

All Members who intend on cycling the Ring of Kerry in July must have names with Noel on or before the 14th January.

Athletic Club

Ballycastle A.C. Operation Transformation 5k walk and run Saturday mornings at 10am from January 17th to February 14th from Ballycastle Community Hall, contact Mike 087 9145551.

AGM will take place on Friday 24th at 8:30pm in the Community Hall.

Juvenile training every Friday in the Hall at 7pm.

Membership now due for 2015, registration on Friday 17th & 24th from 7pm - 8:30pm.

New members welcome.

 

Art Group

Art Group meet in the Resource Centre on Mondays from 2.00 – 5.00p.m. New members welcome. Guidance available from our resident artist Sue Upton.

 

The basics of painting

The basics of painting with Acrylic, Ballycastle Community Hall, 3 Wednesdays, January 14, 21, 28. 

7-9pm. For anyone interested, adults and teenagers doing inter and leaving cert.  

Lead by Nuala Clarke, visual artist.  3 weeks: €40 (or drop-in €15 per class).  Basic materials available, bring whatever you have.

Over 55's exercise club meet in Suífinn Way Centre on Tuesdays at 11.30a.m.

Craft Shop is located in the Resource Centre, Upper Main Street stocking goods by local craftworkers e.g. knitwear, crochet, handmade cards, wooden bowls, cushions, cot quilts, etc.

Ballycastle souvenir items e.g. candles, fridge magnets, keyrings, bookmarks, biros, teabag holders, St. Brigid's crosses, Mayo Crystal and a range of other items.
