St.
Patrick's Day Parade
Plans
are been drawn up for the Ballycastle Parade on St. Patrick's
Day.
An
open invitation has been issued to local organisations, clubs,
bands and sports groups to get the ball rolling immediately
and be ready to take part as participants rather than spectators
this year. Schools, Sports clubs and the business sector are
asked to consider taking part.
Local
businesses are encouraged to have their shop windows and premises
decked out in festive colours and displays. Participation
is encouraged by the huge array of sporting clubs and organisations
active in Ballycastle and North Mayo at present while music,
dance, fitness, drama, theatrical and creative groups are
also encouraged to get behind this year's parade and march
behind their flags and banners.
Assembly
will be from 12.05pm (after Mass) at the Community Hall with
the parade moving off at 12.20pm. To ensure ease and safety
of passage along the parade route and in particular at the
Sea Road , participating floats and lorries should not exceed
the designated speed limit. All wishing to participate in
the parade contact Maura Healy, Seán O'Grady or any
member of BEO (Ballycastle Events Organisation).
