Ballycastle defeated Ballina in the first round of the Winter League on Saturday 4th . Two goals by super sub Shane Forde sealed the issue.   

Final score:   Ballycastle:   2 – 8;     Ballina:   1 – 7.

G.A.A. Dinner Dance

Over 160 people attended the Annual G.A.A. Dinner Dance held in the Upper Deck on Saturday 4th . The Special Guest was Sean McHale, Chairman of the North Board.   He paid tribute to the players and committee for keeping the club going over the years.   He presented the players with Div. 5 medals and also made the presentation to the award winners.   Paddy Gilvarry received the Clubman of the Year award for his dedication to training and as selector for many years.   Daniel Forde was awarded the Junior Player of the Year and Jason O'Neill the Minor Player of the Year award.   Paul Doherty received the Hall of Fame.   He is involved in the club for over 50 years as player and official and is a nephew of the great Tom Langan. Paul thanked the club for the great honour and encouraged people to get involved in the running of the club.

 

Brian (Boru) Murphy presented his latest CD about the team to the players and officials.  

The music on the night was supplied by popular 'Bumble Bee'.

 

Fr. Killeen, Patron of the Club, thanked the players for commitment during the year and he hoped that the players would give of their best again for 2006.  

Seamus O'Connor, Chairman of the Club, was M.C. for the night.   He thanked all supporters during the year and all who gave spot prizes.   He also thanked Martin McAndrew (Katie Macs) for sponsoring the team during the year.
