Shrine Dedication

Bishop John Fleming will be in Ballycastle at the 11.30a.m. Mass on Sunday next, 12th June and afterwards will bless and dedicate the Shrine to Unbaptised Children from the Parish which has been erected in the Church grounds, and also to bless the Bell of the old Church which is now also located in the grounds of the present Church. Fr. Brendan Hoban will also be here to speak about the Bell and past history.

Book Launch

Julia Stagg, daughter of Mike and Ellen, Doonadoba, Ballycastle will celebrate the publication of her first novel ‘L' Auberge' with a French themed evening at the County Library, The Mall, Castlebar on Tuesday June 14th at 8.00p.m.

 

Although the story is set in France it is centred around a small village and portrays the local politics of

intrigue and deception which are to be found in any rural community.

 

The book will be launched by Mrs Fionnuala Kenny and the event is supported by Castle Book Shop, Castle and by the County Library . In true French fashion wine and cheese will be provided on the night.

All are welcome.

North Mayo Exclusive Junior Cup Final : Ballycastle v Moygownagh on Saturday 11th June at 7.00p.m. in Kilfian.

 

National Schools Tournament:

The finals of the Colm Kenny Memorial Football Tournament for National Schools is set to be played this Thursday evening, June 9th , in Kilfian Pitch. Six schools are taking part – Ballycastle, Cooneal, Lacken, Killala, Mountpalmer and Templemary.

The C Final starts at 7.00p.m., followed by the B Final at 7.30p.m. and the A Final at 8.00p.m.

 

Club Membership can be paid to Martin Hefferon, Chairman, Éilis Ormsby, Treasurer or any Club officer. Students and O.A.P.'s: €10; Single: €25; Family: €40.

 

Final Date for purchase of County Board Draw tickets is June 12 th . Tickets are available from any club member. First Draw takes place on June 14 th . Please support.
