Hospice

branch of Mayo/Roscommon Hospice Foundation was set up in
1994.
The
Hospice Foundation provide primarily, a home care service,
working in co-operation with the Primary Health Care Team
- General Practitioners and Public Health Nurses. The Palliative
Care Team also visit patients in hospice units, in hospitals
and nursing homes throughout the two counties. In order
to avail of the hospice service, patients being cared for
at home are referred through their family doctor, while
those in hospital are referred though their consultant.
The services provided by the Hospice are free of charge
to all.

Support Group continue to raise funds for Mayo/Roscommon
Hospice, Fr. Killeen hosts a 'Coffee Morning' on Shrove
Tuesday and Phil Healy hosts a Coffee Morning in Healy's
Pub on Ireland's National Coffee Morning in mid September.
Phil also has a jar at hand for anyone having tea or coffee,
at any time, to make a donation to Hospice instead of payment.
At the moment she is selling tickets for the Raffle of a
house in Roscommon and Hospice hope to raise a €million
from this raffle. She also sells sunflowers and collected
old coins at the changeover to Euro currency. Last year
she collected €1,440 towards Hospice.
All
monies collected locally are spent locally by Hospice.
